Brides and family photography for over 15 years, I Still love it.

Wedding Photography prices and packages widely vary. Most studios are expensive, while others can be less expensive. I work with you on what you can afford. I do my best on every shoot and I truly enjoy your wedding no matter what you paid me. You see it's 'The Wedding" that is my passion NOT the price.

You may have been planning your wedding since you were a little girl. You met the man of your dreams, he proposed. Now you actually have to plan your wedding, setting the budget, finding a wedding venue, making decisions on who and how many to invite, what about flowers, and you must have the perfect dress! try out different caterers, dealing with your future in-laws, the list goes on and on and on..

And then there’s the wedding photography the one thing left to help you remember all your emotions, events and the details after the food has been devoured, the band has played the last dance, the flowers have withered and the guests have all gone. You soon find out that wedding photography is so important and prices widely vary. Some wedding photographers cost just a few hundred dollars to show up and shoot, some charge a few thousand dollars and some charge a small fortune. How to choose. And what is the average price for a wedding photographer?

Truth is, it’s hard to compare wedding photography prices because the numbers do not always tell the whole story, and the average price for a wedding photographer can vary based on several factors. It is important to compare apples to apples.
a real life scenario: say you find 2 photographers who both have a wedding photography packages that cost $4,000.
OK, lets STOP RIGHT THERE:

Wedding photography is a lot of FUN! Weddings however are a lot of MONEY if paying for everything yourself, or a lot of work if you diy. ?
   I LOVE the diy part.
diy (do it yourself) Weddings are the best to photograph. So I often help brides on how to' and where to find items you'll need.
1) Pick up on what your dress looks and feels like. Because the 'wedding dress' says everything about the two of you.
2) Colors that look the 'best on the Bride' hair and eyes also skin tones all make a BIG deference.
3) the location of your wedding because here's where the biggest amount of your budget comes into account.
3-A) start with how many 'guests'? 20, 50, 100, 200, etc..
3-B) accommodations, hotels, family, friends?
CHART: over 50 becomes a large wedding. as 100 to 200 are common and at a "wedding facility". and really big weddings well really BIG MONEY.
So, let's think out side the box:
The most beautiful least amount of money wedding I shot was at a park. Early in the day the chef started the slow cooking. Wile holding the chosen spot for the arrival.
As The Bride dressing the dress her mother re-designed. The tables are covered the plates are set. The flowers are simply across the long 'endless feast' table. With all the side dishes, Wedding Cake, garnishes, beautiful!
The guests are seated, the groom and minister standing at the front: The lemo pulls up, Father of the brides steps out, assist his daughter. Every one stands, ""here comes THE BRIDE"". Ya da, ya da, ya da you have a big party and you saved a fortune! You get the idea. The photography is beautiful, because 1) you could afford to pay your photographer, Florist, limousine, and a honey moon!
These are just a hint to get you started on the most memorable wedding possible.
REMEMBER: better doesn't mean more money, it just means BETTER!
Houston wedding photographers

There is always a fantastic background for wedding and sittings, sessions.

how you envision your events and the mood you want to set for your all guests. Weather it be fun or intimate. Your wedding photos should show this.
Here’s some questions to ask your wedding photographer:
1. Do you take long exposures of the locations?
Long Exposures. Long exposures is a camera technique when a photographer must us a tripod to allow more light and a smaller aperture to create a brighter shot. This will allow for a lot more detail in the photograph.
2. Do you use a tripod or mono pod? You do need this to create long exposures?
Tripods and mono pods. Both are used to steady shots. Tripods have three legs and mono podsonly have one.
A landscape shot of the beach barbecue in the Caribbean. Guests were starting to arrive at sunset to have an intimate dinner hosted by the bride and groom.  I wanted to see the colors of the sunset, the hanging lights and keep the intimacy of the party. One shot was taken with flash. It’s a nice shot, but you loose the colors of the sky, and it looks like it was taken with a point and shoot. The shot on shot was taken with available light, no flash. Personally I think this shot tells a better story and sets the tone much better. You can see the colors of the sunset, the landscape looks more 3 dimensional and you get that intimate feel. Professional wedding photographers should always take better shots that what others are taking on their point and shoots. After all isn’t that what you’re paying me for? Talk to you photographer, tell them
Here’s a tip for brides viewing a photographers portfolio!
I meet with lots brides and always ask about the environment they want the guest to have. And why? Most bride select locations because they feel a certain way or want it look a certain way to all their guests. So let’s talk about setting the scene. Weddings are about getting great portraits. But, as wedding photographers we should also shoot the environment in which the guests are being entertained. This way when a bride looks back at her wedding photos, she can immediately feel the way she did on that day. Wedding photography is about telling a story, setting a mood and recreating an experience. It's all the small details that make a your wedding portraits beautiful.

Your wedding is as a painting, all the brush strokes added together turns into the most amazing picture.
Getting rid of unwanted things in an image is a good idea. Start with a clean slate and add some details for elegance but keep it simple!
If you can not De-clutter a space then black and whit photography is a good shot too.
All ceremony shots are candid. No fake poses allowed! I want all the emotions to show in your pictures!
The above image was shot with a 'spot filter' I don't do edits, I shoot art live!

Blackman wedding

This wedding was so hart filled, I will remember for a very long time.

This background was filled with color. Add words and make it a post card.

No fake pose! They really were hideing before the wedding started. lol

This is where someone should have said "all rise for THE BRIDE".

I do planning too, with planing you have better understanding, and better wedding portraits.

Never the less this is a beautiful moment for those who saw The Bride's walk.

Engagement Shoot:

for

The Blackman wedding

Look at those beautiful smiles!
This is casual, fun, romantic outdoor photographers shoot.
Bold, medium bright clothes look best. For example it’s best to avoid solid white for this kind offsetting. One of you can wear solid and the other can wear print. Two solids are fine too, but rather than two identical outfits, I like a some contrast between girl and guy. Medium to darker color clothes are nice.

 another engagement sessions

the idea is to have fun, just be you

Avoid hats, sunglasses, and bulging pockets.
For the girl, some texture, lace or straps can look
good on camera with jeans or skirt. For the guy, a un-tucked shirtcan look good with jeans. If you want to go even more casual, then
a nice T-shirt and shorts with some cool sandals can be good.
Another good idea is to take your car key off the ring and put it
in your rear pocket, leaving everything else in the car. Ask me about
some of the themed shoots I can do for you, these are a blast!

image below is from g's photography in the UK

500 - 1200 images over a 5 hour period. If I have an assistant or another photographer with me, then it will be more.
Can guests order reprints directly from you?
Yes. At your wedding, I give your guests a card that they can order a D.V.D. for $40.00 cash at the wedding I will mail it to them. Or with your copy release you can burn friends and family without additional cost.
 Bridal Sitting:
Bring comfortable walking shoes. A bathing suit can work as a substitute for a dressing room while on location. Textures shows very nice like loose features or curls added into your hair
because this style looks supper on camera.  And if possible, please bring someone to carry
your stuff and help with the dress.

 Photographer Tara Jerich says:
Wedding Photography is art but also mechanical

it is all about fitting the best puzzle together with the back ground for ground and middle ground in the best placement with best angles, and then be able and integrating group all at the same time? I find myself smiling just thinking about shooting a wedding gets me excited. I thrive on the whole process.

This family found a photographer "ME" I live 30 feet from the river.

Call me for a family sitting on the river.

In the same location for over 10 years now.
Unless I win the lotto I plan to stay. However, if I did win the lotto I would build the most beautiful Castle to shoot weddings! And I do full weddings for service men and woman coming back for free! Wow, how much fun would that be?
We are all struggling with the cost of everything now days. Never the less wedding photography is important. I do not take advantage of others and, I try to give away my efforts and expertise of wedding photography all the time. This may make me look cheap but, I am not! If you cannot afford a 'good photographer for your wedding I charge $300 and up. If you can afford a truly great photographer then you should be willing to pay $2,000 for the same package. My price for photography is meant to be a real gift to all my brides.
I have found a way to cut all unnecessary cost. Starting with this web site. Most other wedding photographers spend thousands to advertise. This site cast me $14.00 a month. I simply have the know how on finding the best for a reasonable amount of money.
NOT A DISCOUNT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER!
A wedding photographer with a heart.
And let me say I love wedding photography, getting the best memories of your wedding has been my personal joy for over 12 years now. I found out what I love to do, so I am very good at getting the photography you love.

Photography
from the Greek the means painting or writing with light.
The happiness of your wedding shows in the images!
Wedding Photography
Wedding photography to me is the most important type photography I do. I have only one opportunity to get the shot right! As it has been said there are no real re-takes at a wedding! Of course I do take many mutable shots every chance I can. This is why brides know that a pro-photographer is the only choice! That does’t mean all 'pros' are a good choice either. I have all the experience as the best in this business, still every shot at a wedding will not turn out. The nature of the job. So for all my weddings I say do the very best you can, and then enjoy your day! As the photographer I'll do my best to get ALL your shots, and I don't want you to worry about a thing! To help calm all my brides I remind them you did all you could, let the day come about, whatever 'miss-hap's' happen, I'll get the shots and typically those are the ones you end up loving!
Good wedding photographers can be the best planners because they are organized.
If you do not have a 'planner' allow the photographer to tweak the display. A few inches can really make a big difference in the pictures. That goes for the placement of the bridal and full 'wedding party' as well Daring the ceremony. I cannot tell you how many weddings the bridal party is so far away from the bride and groom. As a result I can only get a shot of the full room rather than the party in front. Like good flower design groupings near each other are the best way to go.
Timing for your wedding day photographer
All the bridal party and this includes Parents need to be dressed at least 30 minutes before the wedding starts. This will allow time for all the maids and parents to have some great portraits taken.
Wedding Start Time
I start photographing as soon as I arrive. I shoot the "place" anything that is beautiful. Then the bride getting dressed with her Mom and or maids. I 'run' to photograph the groom and all his fellas, Father and Mother of the groom. Now, back in to shoot the bride getting dressed, posed and not, dressing time calls for some really beautiful portraits. OK, time to get some of your guest while waiting just a few mines before the wedding starts. I love the chance to shoot the bride and her maids peeking over or around hiding just before they walk down the else. I get mutable shots on everything that happens. The details of you holding each other’s hands while getting married. Close up and full church. This is where I LOVE to get it all. Because I cannot say "hold it" I can only shoot what is there happening. And this is where I shoot all stiles. It is also where I get the most emotions so, although it is the most stressful time it is what I'm all about, and why I love wedding photography in the first place.
Formal wedding portraits:
Just after the wedding, before the reception is typically the time to get all the "formals". I start with the bride and groom, tell them that they are furniture don't go anywhere. Then I photograph the parents. Keeping the parents I get everybody in frame, then I slowly I peel away the largest groups into the smaller groups to shoot all "Portrait" work hear. Ending 'the formal portrait with the bride and groom kissing yet again.

Candid, Paparazzi, portrait photography are all very needed for the best coverage at most weddings. You just want one who will get the shots while not making noise or interrupting the ceremony.

My last wedding I was told I was like a Paparazzi but, “in a good way”.

Houston was founded in 1836 on land near the banks of Buffalo Bayou. It was incorporated as a city on June 5, 1837, and named after then-President of the Republic of Texas—former General Sam Houston who had commanded and won at the Battle of San Jacinto, which took place east of where the city was established. The burgeoning port and railroad industry, combined with oil discovery in 1901, has induced continual surges in the city's population. In the mid-twentieth century, Houston became the home of the Texas Med center the world's largest concentration of healthcare and research institutions

Rated as a global city, Houston's economy has a broad industrial base in energy, manufacturing, aeronautics, and transportation. Photographer rehearses is for taking a critical wedding photo, using her brain. During the film era, photographers favored color negative film and medium-format cameras, especially by Hasselblad. Today, many more weddings are photographed with digital SLR cameras as the digital convenience provides quick detection of lighting mistakes and allows creative approaches may be reviewed immediately.
Because of diminishing film use, some photographers continue to shoot with film as they prefer the film aesthetic, and others are of the opinion that negative film captures more information than digital technology, and has less margin for the exposure error. Certainly true in some cases, it should be noted that exposure in a camera's native Raw image format which allows for more under- and over- exposure than JPEG varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. All forms of RAW have a degree of exposure latitude which exceeds slide film - to which digital capture is commonly compared.
Currently, it is fair to say that many professional labs have a greater capacity to provide services in post-production for film compared with digital[citation needed], such as quickly generating adequate prints in the event of some over- or under- exposure. This should change over time, with manufacturers like Kodak announcing a commitment to further develop streamlined services in the area of professional digital lab output.
Photography Technology has evolved with the use of remote triggers and flashes. Wedding photographers are now able to take advantage of traveling light and having the ability to use creative lighting.
